As a phrase, lorem ipsum is not meant to be understood, but to visually represent the potential of an idea not yet written. Like its namesake, IPSUM is a placeholder—a fluid exploration of how creativity has the potential to shape and transform our lives. Untethered to any singular location or concept, the project remains responsive to the moment and the ideas it nurtures.
Founded in 2022 by Jordana Longo, IPSUM emerged from her belief that work should adapt to the shifting, often unpredictable rhythms of life. Centered in the Hudson Valley, the project began as a curatorial exploration of objects Longo collected during her travels, shown alongside works by artists living in the surrounding region.
In 2025, Longo began collaborating with artist and curator Sylvia Estes. Estes’s work centers on the role of craft in shaping cultural narratives, and on creating opportunities for meaningful engagement through the arts. Together, they see IPSUM as an ever-evolving reflection of the present—shaped by intuition, dialogue, and curiosity.
